Pet Sitter for Marana, Oro Valley and Cortaro Area
We currently offer only overnight service in the Marana/Oro Valley/Cortaro area because none of our sitters lives close enough to make that area economical for shorter daytime visits. We are looking for a part-time contractor who already lives in that area to help us fill that gap in service. Mature workers are especially encouraged. Horse experience is a huge plus. Vet techs receive a higher pay rate. To qualify, you must:
- Be over 21 years of age
- Have your own reliable, insured vehicle and a clean driving record (no bicycles or motorcycles, a closed vehicle is necessary in case an animal you are caring for must be taken to the vet)
- Be able to pass a drug and background check
- Speak, read and write fluent English, French or American Sign Language
- Have a home computer and printer (library not acceptable)
- Know how to use email, read maps and write a business letter
- Have a cell phone or vibrating pager
- Three work/personal references -- and we do check!
- And, obviously, be comfortable working with a variety of animals
We require a higher level of training than anyone else in Tucson, and we also pay better than anyone else in Tucson. To work for us, you must either:
Already have a certificate or degree in a health, medical, veterinary or biological science area
OR
Already have a Pet First Aid/CPR Certificate AND 3 years verifiable pet care experience. Volunteer pet care experience is acceptable only if it was done for an independent organization such FAIR. Care for your own pets only qualifies if it has been evaluated by an independent group, such as by winning a 4-H or AKC competition.
Human First Aid/CPR certificates, certificates given by pet sitting businesses to their own employees, and certificates or degrees for online courses are not accepted.
